FAQ

Pin Grading

I do my best to grade my pins accurately and get a second opinion on the grading. Please note that grading mainly focuses on the front facing surface (the design) while the side and back of the pin are graded on a lower degree.

A-Grade/Standard

A-Grade pins are the highest quality, though they may still show MINOR imperfections or flaws that are not visible or obvious at first glance or can only be seen under certain angle and lighting. Such flaws include:

  • Tiny air bubbles
  • A tiny spec of dust
  • Minor scratches in the metal
  • Slight underfill, overfill or uneven areas

B-Grade

B-Grade pins may look fine at first glance, but upon closer inspection you can see some minor imperfections. Flaws can typically be seen at normal light and at arm's length. Some may have more minor or major flaws than others. Some flaws include:

  • Small air bubbles
  • Small scratch in the metal or paint
  • Small underfill, overfill or uneven areas
  • Multiple specs of dust

C-Grade

C-Grade pins have very noticeable flaws that can be seen immediately at arm's length or normal lighting. Some flaws include:

  • Very noticeable air bubbles
  • Very noticeable or multiple scratches in the metal or paint
  • Severe underfill, overfill or uneven areas
  • Burnt edges
